The Jamaican Canadian Association (JCA) is a registered non-profit organization committed to identifying and responding to the needs of the Caribbean/African community. This includes community outreach and responding to the educational needs of our communities through the establishment of a Scholarship Program. The Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance to worthy students from the Caribbean/African community, who are pursuing post-secondary studies in Ontario Universities/Colleges. In 2014, $40,000 was awarded.
The UAC’s Scholarship program is aimed at investing in the youth of Peel Region through the establishment of scholarships for eligible high-school students entering their first year of college/university. The first scholarship was awarded in 1985 and over 29 years later, 300 scholarships have been awarded in the amount of approximately $299,000. Successful candidates are presented with their scholarship award at the UAC’s Annual Scholarship Award and Recognition dinner.
