Sharon is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). She is a member of the Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (OSLA) and the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).

Sharon has over 20 years of clinical experience providing services to children and young adults with communication needs in hospitals, preschools as well as private schools and clinical settings. She has experience working with children with complex needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cognitive-Communication Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Global Developmental Delay, ADHD and Learning Disabilities. Prior to joining the Durham District School Board in 2009, she worked at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital for 15 years where she was on the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Team, the Cleft-Lip and Palate/Craniofacial Program and also had the opportunity to work as a research clinician looking at outcome measures.

Sharon believes in collaboration and sharing among professionals to understand and listen to the needs of children and their families. She believes in family centered care and that clinicians shown be aware that cultural and linguistic factors may affect an individual’s communication skills.

In addition to having a part-time private practice, Sharon has also enjoyed being a clinical supervisor for Speech-Language Pathology Masters’ students and a mentor for new graduates completing their Clinical Fellowship year.

Sharon lives with her husband and three sons in Scarborough.
