I have always had a fascination with buildings and how we use space. My architectural experience began when I was a child growing up in Hamilton, Ontario. My father immigrated to Canada from Trinidad as a Draftsman so there were always drawing tools in the house. My mother maintained a meticulous home and always sought inspiration touring real-estate sales or through a vast collection of residential design magazines. Their influence along with an affection for mathematics and the visual arts are reason I pursued an architectural career.

I received the Bachelor and the Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Waterloo. I love to travel and experience different cultures whenever the opportunity presents itself. Through university programs and professional internships, I was permitted to study Architecture around the world. I was fortunate to reside in magnificent cities such as New York, Paris, Rome and Montreal.

Presently, I am a registered Architect with KPMB Architects in Toronto. KPMB Architects is one of Canada’s leading design studios with projects receiving national and international praise and recognition. I am fully immersed in the design of the New Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. I have been involved with various aspects of the design from its initial conception through to the current construction phase. The construction schedule can be quite hectic at times but I do enjoy opportunities to meet with the end user groups and strategize on how to fulfill their expectations.

Outside of work, I mentor those who are interested in becoming Architects through the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada’s Syllabus Program. I am also an Executive Committee member of an independent organization called BEAT – Building Equality in Architecture, Toronto. This group is dedicated to the promotion of equality in the profession of Architecture through advocacy, mentorship, networking and promotion.
