SOCACIZE© is a creative blend of Caribbean and African dance fitness movements set to rhythms of zouk, reggae, calypso, soca, chutney, dancehall and on occasion drums.
This exhilarating total body workout targets all age groups and is broken into four genres: Bacannal Warm up, Cardio Soca Jam, Wine and Tone & Groovy Stretch. Ayanna Lee-Rivears is Socacize® founder and instructor, a dancer and choreographer. She started dancing at the age of 12 with Ballet Jordan in Toronto, where she was trained in ballet, modern, and jazz.
As a native of Trinidad and Tobago, Ayanna was passionate in learning the dance styles practiced in that particular country. With a threshold of confidence, Ayanna ventured to Caribbean Folk Performers where she was exposed to indigenous Caribbean, African and Modern Contemporary dance styles. During this time she established a reputation as “Limbo Dancer Extraordinaire” which has in turn, led her to tour extensively in the USA, Virgin Islands, Asia, Canada and the Caribbean. She has also opened for Destiney’s Child with the Boom Tang Boys at the Roy Thompson Hall.
