Chief Justice Michael H. Tulloch is a distinguished figure in Canadian jurisprudence, currently serving as the Chief Justice of Ontario and President of the Court of Appeal for Ontario since December 15, 2022. His legal career spans over two decades and is characterized by significant contributions to justice and law enforcement oversight.

Biography
Chief Justice Tulloch was first appointed as a trial judge on the Superior Court of Justice in September 2003, where he served for nine years. His judicial acumen led him to the Court of Appeal for Ontario in June 2012, where he spent another decade shaping Ontario’s legal landscape.
In 2016, he was tasked by the Ontario government to lead pivotal reviews on police and community relations, producing two landmark reports: the Report of the Independent Police Oversight Review (2017) and the Report of the Independent Street Checks Review (2018). These works have had a profound impact on law enforcement policies and practices, reflecting his deep commitment to fairness, transparency, and justice.
