He has facilitated psycho-educational groups at York University for racialized youth (ages 10-14) from the Jane and Finch area, teaching emotional intelligence and introducing them to basic principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He also spent a number of years supporting youth and young adults involved in the criminal justice system to rehabilitate, learn pro-social skills and develop reintegration plans to facilitate their entry back into the community.
A significant part of the work Matthew did involved supporting young women who were victims of sex trafficking in the
Region of Peel to safely exit human sex trafficking and receive the services needed to stabilize and rebuild their life.
Matthew earned his Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. He currently serves in ministry as an ordained Evangelist at his church where he preaches, teaches, serves in Outreach work and facilitates small groups. He is happily married to his wife Jodi-Ann and a proud father of three beautiful children.
